Anatomic vs. swept-back femoral profiles. The rounded sagittal profile allows for a greater range of motion and is more forgiving to the retinaculum by preventing over-tensioning of soft tissues.
Anatomic (Green) vs. Swept-back Sagittal Profile (Gray)
The trochlear groove is designed to sweep back posteriorly for better patellar performance, resisting patella crepitus and clunk.
Lengthened to support the patella in deep flexion and provide support for the quadriceps tendon. Articulates with the tendon at 105-120 degrees of flexion.
The widened floor reduces constraining forces in extension. Provides 6.5-degree valgus angulation and a 2mm lateralized groove to reduce shear stresses and optimize tracking.
